Research Strategy 2007-2011
The research strategy under which the Trust commissions research was developed to keep abreast of and to inform the future direction of healthcare as a whole and professional developments within pharmacy. The key areas of research are designed to both build the knowledge base for pharmacy practice and professionals and to identify areas for future research. The 2007 - 2011 research strategy therefore builds upon the findings and identified research priorities arising from the 2002-2006 strategy, it integrates the key policy, legal and practice developments for pharmacy since 2006 and the primary opinions of key stakeholders. This has translated into three commissioning themes to be taken forward:
- Patients, medicines and professionalism in pharmacy;
- Patient safety and pharmacy practice; and,
- Social capital, health inequalities and pharmacy.
